RAISON D'ETRE

KDA was established from a shared vision of many outstanding Karate practitioners, current and former national team members, champions and professionals practising Karate in its Art, Sport and Fitness forms.

The organisation's objectives are to propagate Karate and elevate the quality of instruction in the country. It believes that Karate can be taught and learned in a safe and systematic way.

The idae of creating a Karate school supports the group's ideals of ensuring that nothing but top quality instruction is provided to all KDA students.

KDA members believe that the dictates of the true way of Karate training require inner balance, compassion and clarity in all situations. While a great physical prowess is developed and expanded, so are the spiritual fortitude, mental focus and a compassionate character. Karate means that we are diligent in our quest for optimum performance, inner balance and a positive attitude during dojo training as well as in our schools, places of work, businesses, homes and our communities. Karate is much more than just self-defence; it is a way of life requiring a conscienctious and honorable approach in every aspect thereof.

Therefore, the essence and test of a true Karate champion in the sport of Karate requires the ideals of sportsmanship and exemplary citizenship at the highest levels.

KDA is comprised of highly accomplished athletes and trainers who have competed and have become local, regional and internation champions. Many of them are also outstanding and respected professionals in their own fields.
